LONG BIO

Margarida Sousa is fourteen. She sings, plays the piano and writes songs. Her repertoire is influenced by traditional music and pop rock, changing with the setting, the venue and the musicians playing alongside her.

In December 2025, she sang at the Christmas concert of the Banda Filarmónica da Casa do Povo de Nossa Senhora de Machede. In March 2026, she opened for José Francisco at the Salão Central Eborense. On 10 and 12 June, she played two concerts of her own at Venham Lá os Santos: an intimate set at Largo Álvaro Velho and another at Praça do Giraldo, with Afonso Vila Nova on drums, José Pedro Henriques on guitar, Mariana Pedrosa on piano, Luís Massano on bass and Luís Vasco Massano on flute. In early July, at the invitation of José Pedro Henriques, she took to the main stage of the Feira de São João, where she premiered "Nó Entre Nós", an unreleased original he wrote for her. She also performed at the Évora Book Fair.

She does not use a fixed setlist. She chooses the songs she wants to perform and is gradually building a repertoire of her own songs, including "Growth Pains", the first original song she has written in English.

She wants to keep performing, meet new musicians and reach new audiences, and find out how far music takes her.
